This will be my last post concerning this topic. I figured I would use this post to talk about the argument that all parents and schools use, a gateway drug. Surprisingly this was the hardest to find hard facts on. I did not find any numbers about it all I found was that most people that use other drugs have used marijuana. It also states that not everyone that uses marijuana uses other drugs. On one site i did find that over 40 million people in the U.S.A. have smoked weed, and 216000 people have used heroin in 2000. That is around 15 percent of people that smoke weed actually end up doing a harder drug. This makes me question the point that almost every one makes about marijuana. Well there is something for you to think about hope I have helped you make an educated decision on if you want to smoke or not.

Now one very controversial thing about marijuana is that if it is addictive. Now on the national institute on drug abuse it says that it is. It says after along term use (it does not say how long that is) you will have uncontrollable urges to smoke marijuana. Also it says you will need more and more marijuana to get as high as you did when you first started smoking. If you are antisocial you will get addicted to marijuana a lot quicker than social people. So in this category I say that the drug using kids were wrong.

Well this shows some very informational picture. to see that almost all information given to kids is extremely biased. It doesn't seem like anyone is getting the real information about drugs. At school and from parents you hear about the worst stories about drugs and from your drug using friends all you hear is rumors people have made up. So that is why I am here to inform you from an unbiased opinion about drugs.

Ok this time I am doing something that is not very well known issue about marijuana, heart problems. Most people thought that smoking and the heart are totally unrelated but in the first hours after you smoke your chances of a heart attack increase 4.8 fold. Now it says no where that this effects you permanently it is just a short term problem. It is said that it this increases even more with older people that smoke. I thought that it was interesting that your heart rate can increase by 100 percent. I am surprised that i have not heard of this in any anti smoking videos. So I guess school/ parents win this one because haven a heart attack is not something I want.

Well this time I am going to talk about lung cancer. Since I have yet to hear even a stoner argue that weed doesn't cause lung cancer. What I have heard is that marijuana is better than cigarettes so I will see if this is true. This came from the NIDA National On Drug Abuse and says that marijuana smokers can have some of the same issues as tobacco smokers. Like coughing and stuff, but the connection between lung cancer in the upper respiratory system or lower does not exist. "Thus, the link between marijuana smoking and these cancers remains unsubstantiated at this time." So once again I am going to have to say that the school and parents are wrong. Stoners actually could argue that marijuana does NOT cause lung cancer.

My question that I am trying to answer is that is marijuana as bad as the school depicts it in the anti drug videos. Also is it as good as some of the drug users say it is. I have found that one study that a lot of the facts of brain loss due to marijuana is on one test with lab monkeys where nothing they breathed was marijuana smoke for around 45 minutes. After that they denoted that "experimental exposure to MJ (marijuana) smoke is feasible and does not compromise the general health of the rhesus monkey." There for as far as i am concerned in this category i am going to have to say that the school is wrong.

I chose this topic for lots of reasons. One is all of the false facts that go around from other drug users as excuses to use them and from parents or teachers to students as reasons to not do drugs. It seems that no one knows the true facts about drugs these days. I would like to inform you. The drug I will focus on most is marijuana the most questionably not legal drug.
